Skin Wars, a reality-competition show about body painters, is currently in production for its second season on the Game Show Network. Last week, the show's crew overwhelmingly decided to stand united in calling on the producers to sign an IATSE contract. Earlier this week, a deal was finalized.
The contract will provide Motion Picture Industry health and pension contributions to all covered employees on the production and post-production crews. For assistant editors and others on the crew who had been hired at rates significantly below the scale rates in the IATSE Videotape Agreement, the new contract will result in substantial increases in wages.
Congratulations to this crew for improving their jobs and for helping to bring more of unscripted television under the coverage of union contracts!
